The Corner Studio is located on the UVA Corner, at 1400 University Avenue across from The White Spot.

The OpenGrounds Corner Studio hosts and partners on a number of different events to foster collaboration and inspire ideas with impact.

Bill Sherman, Founding Director
Bill Sherman is an architect and educator, whose work focuses on building connections, creating spaces for collaboration, work and dwelling that create strong ties to the environmental and cultural context. His work has been published internationally and he has received numerous awards for teaching and practice. At UVA, he has served as Chair of the Department of Architecture and Landscape Architecture and Associate Dean of the School of Architecture.
Ashley Duffalo, Program Manager
Ashley Duffalo recently joined the OpenGrounds team after a 15-year career working in art museums (most recently at the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota) holding various roles that allowed her to develop public programs, sheperd artist residency projects, and manage an in-house graphic design and publications studio. Her interests include art and design and how people participate in culture through collaboration, creativity, and acts of exchange and generosity.
