The OpenGrounds Innovation Leadership Forum is a workshop series, led by leaders selected from a robust group of alumni, parents, or friends of the University, on topics related to their areas of success and expertise. The workshop will cultivate students’ passions and talents by connecting them to accomplished innovators in leadership positions across diverse fields.

Participants engage in real- time problem solving in a collaborative, cross-disciplinary setting. Workshops will be open to all students (undergraduate, graduate, or post-doc, from any discipline or school).

Funded by the Parents Committee, the first workshop was led by OpenGrounds Fellow Chic Thompson, whose inspiring lectures help students to be “curious first......critical second” while creatively solving problems.

Chic Thompson is a Fellow at OpenGrounds and the Darden School of Management and adjunct faculty at The Federal Executive Institute, The YPO University (Young Presidents’ Organization), and The Brookings Institution. Chic’s first book, What a Great Idea!, published by HarperCollins, was a main selection of the Executive Book Club and published in Japanese, Portuguese, Chinese and Spanish.
